God answers you

God is the author of life. Therefore He has a script on the how it all began, the purpose of life, how we should live our lives, and what our destination is -- it is called the Bible.

For those who do not believe in Jesus Christ, I pray that you open your hearts and receive as the Lord answers some of the questions you struggle with daily. The Lord loves you with an everlasting love and would do anything in His power, except violate your free will, to bring you into all truth so that you may choose life eternal and not remain in death, for separation from God is spiritual death. The word of God says, “He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

You ask, God answers….

I don’t believe in God. I am an atheist.

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" (Psalm 14:1). “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20).

I am an agnostic. I don’t know if there is a God and I don’t believe one can ever know if God exists.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”(Jeremiah 29:13)

I don’t need God. I am doing fine by myself.

“If it were his (God’s) intention and he withdrew his spirit and breath, all mankind would perish together and man would return to the dust.” (Job 34:14)

I don’t want there to be a God. I want atheism to be true.

“Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.”(John 3:19) "I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. (John 12:46) "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion." (Hebrews 3:15)

I am too busy for God. I have no time.

“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Matthew 16:26)

I am a Polytheist. I believe in many Gods.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD” (Deut 6:4). I am the LORD, and there is no other.” (Isaiah 45:5) “I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior.” (Isaiah 43:11) "Turn to me and be saved….for I am God, and there is no other.” (Isaiah 45:22)

I have my own religion.

"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way" (Isaiah 53:6). "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death" (Proverbs 16:25).

I believe there are many roads to Heaven. Christ is just one way.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:16).

I will believe what I understand to be true

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5,6)

Why can’t I just live my life? Why do I have to believe in God?

”It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

I am so skeptical. I want to believe in Jesus Christ and I tried, but I just can’t. What can I do?

“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17).

I am young. I want to enjoy my life. I think following God is too hard.

“For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it, but small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matthew 7:13,14). “The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.” (1 John 2:17).

I believe in the big bang theory.

“I (God) have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.” (Isaiah 45:12) “For by him (God) all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together (Col 1:16,17)

I believe in evolution.

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 1:26,27)

Where is God amongst all the lack, suffering, and evil in the world?

“I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) “I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.” (John 12:46). “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matt 11:28)

Morality is relative. I am a philosopher and I believe we make our own standards for right and wrong like most of us always did.

“In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead." (Acts 17:30,31).

I am Jewish. I believe in God, but I do not believe Jesus is the messiah.

“You have never heard his (God's) voice nor seen his form, nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.”(John 5:37-40)

Why did Jesus place me in a Hindu, Buddhist, Islam, Athiest etc home if He wanted me to believe in Him as the one true God?

“He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.” (Acts 17:26,27).

How did so many other religions and belief systems come about?

“Although they (our forefathers) knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator.” (Romans 1:21-25)

Why did God make me?

“Thou (God) hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Rev 4:11)

Why did God make me the way I am? I don’t like myself.

"Shall the thing formed say to Him that formed it, why hast Thou made me thus?" (Romans 9:20). “The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7).

Does God really love me? Am I really beautiful in His sight?

"I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3). You are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Pslam 139:14) “The very hairs of your head are all numbered.” (Matthew 10:30).

My life is a such a mess. Does God really have a plan for me?

“I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11). “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they (you) may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

Why can’t I be happy? Why do I feel so empty inside all the time?

“For he (God) satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.” (Psalm 109:7).

How can I be born in sin?

“Through the disobedience of the one man (Adam, the first man) the many were made sinners.” (Romans 5:19)

What is the penalty of sin?

“For the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23)

I am a good person. I live a decent life. I do good deeds. Why am I condemned?

“There is none righteous, no, not one… There is none that doeth good, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10,12). “We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.” (Isaiah 64:6) “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

I don’t believe in life after death. When I die that is the end of me.

“The rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments.” (Luke 16:22, 23)

Will we only find out when we die whether we are going to Hell or Heaven?

“He that believeth on him (Jesus Christ) is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:18)

I believe God is a loving merciful God. He will not send me to Hell

“The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth… will by no means clear the guilty.” (Exodus 34:6,7). “For the wages of sin is death (eternal separation from God).” (Romans 6:23).

I am young. I have my whole life ahead of me. Why should I think of eternity now?

“Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” (Prov 27:1). “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” (James 4:14)

Why should God judge me the same as a murderer or one who has sunken into the depths of debauchery?

“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10).

How is this fair?

"Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge?” (Job 38:2) "Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself? (Job 40:8) “The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.” (Pslam 19:9)

If God judgment is so righteous, how can we hope to escape eternal hell?

“He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.” (Psalm 103:10). "Mercy triumphs over judgment!" (James 2:13) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”(John 3:16)

I now admit I am guilty, what should I do?

“I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live.” (Deut 30:19)

How can I be saved?

"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household." (Acts 16:31)

What must I believe?

“The LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6). “Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18). “The Son of God… loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Gal 2:20)

Just believe? Do I have to do nothing else?

“Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ” (Gal 2:16). “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, not of works.” (Ephesians 2:8,9)

Why is a believer "born again"?

"I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again” (John 3:3)

I don’t know about this. I am too great a sinner. I don’t feel I can ever be forgiven.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” (Isaiah 1:18). “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Does God really love me even though I am a sinner?

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

Will my life change after I am saved?

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2nd Cor 5:17). “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Cor 2:9)

Can I be saved right now?

“I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Cor. 6:2)

I believe in Jesus. I received Him as my Lord and Savior. I am saved. I don’t have to serve God.

“The devils also believe, and tremble.” (James 2:19) “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works?” (James 2:14)

What do I need to do as a believer?

“Obey his (God’s) commands; and his commands are not burdensome.” (1 John 5:3). “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27). Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)

Is the entire Bible the word of God’s truth?

“All Scripture is God-breathed.” (2 Tim 3:16)

I am often embarrassed to witness in public

“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.” “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32,33)

Society mandates religious freedom and tolerance. I sometimes talk about God generally, but I’m afraid to tell anyone about Jesus explicitly.

“When I say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.” (Ezekial 3:18)… Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name (Jesus) under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

Do I really need to go to Church? Doesn’t God now live in my heart?

“For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.” (1 Cor. 10:17) “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25).

What about the different denominations?

“There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” (Ephesians 4:4-6).

But how will I know I am in the right church?

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things.” (John 14:26) “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”(Romans 8:14)

Why should I not pray to the saints to pray for me like the Catholics?

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5)

Why is it not ok to use idols and images as a representation of Christ or God?

“Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.” (Leviticus 26:1)…“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)”.

Why is it not ok to go to spiritists or mediums? They claim to have a gift from God.

“Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.”(Leviticus 19:31). “When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? (Isaiah 8:19)

Why should I not believe that Jesus is only the son of God, but not God like the Jehovah Witness’s do?“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending.”(Rev 1:8) “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”(John 14:9) “I and the Father are one." (John 10:30) “If you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.” (John 8:24)

Mormons believe that God the Father has a “body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s.” Why should I not believe this?“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)”…a spirit hath not flesh and bones..(Luke 24:39)

How do I know I am not being taught by False apostles, teachers etc?

“If someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted….” (2 Cor. 11). “Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?... having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” (Gal 3:3,4). “If ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.” (Gal 5:18)

You said I will undergo fiery trials to perfect my faith? I am afraid.

"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)”When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” (Isaiah 43:2) “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Joshua 1:5) “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20)
