Salvation

Salvation is the beginning of a new life we now live in Christ. We were dead in our sins but we are made alive in Christ when we receive Him. We no longer live for ourselves but we now live for Christ. (Romans 6:11, 2 Corinthians 5:15-17)

We have a Godly purpose and destiny. Our purpose is to reveal Christ to the world. Our destiny/goal is to become Christ-like, to have the mind of Christ and the character of Christ which are the fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, long-suffering, and self-control.

Gifts of the Spirit

How are these gifts given

We are to reveal Christ to the world (Acts 1:8), by doing what Jesus did, even as He renews our minds and sanctifies our hearts to become like His (John 1:12; John 14:12; Romans 6:4-5; Ephesians 4:13). God indwells believers with His Holy Spirit who does an inward transformation in imparting the fruits of the spirit and holiness in us to make us Christ-like, at the same time imparting supernatural gifts known as "gifts of the Holy Spirit" to every believer to empower them to do what Jesus did on earth.

The ministry of Jesus was to preach, to heal; physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally, and to teach, in love. We are to do the same. We are to demonstrate God's love and His power to the unsaved and the suffering. The Lord had given me a revelation, through prophesy, a few weeks ago, revealing who we are in Him. He calls us, believers, "Expressions of His love to a lost and weary world". We are to express who He is, and He is love, to the world. We are His word, for He is the Word and we are His children, and He has sent us forth and we will not return to Him void, but we will accomplish all He has set forth for us to do. He has already equipped us. He gave us His Holy Spirit.

When we are born again and baptized in the Holy Ghost, we are imbued with power from on high. This power is the power of the Holy Spirit which is imparted to all believers. (Acts 4:31) After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. The Holy Spirit is the giver of all supernatural gifts, as He determines, for the edification of the body of Christ and to demonstrate God's love and power to the unsaved. These gifts cannot be earned. They are given by grace and are to be exercised by faith. There are nine supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit as explained in:

(1 Corinthians 12:1-11)
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Who are these gifts for

All of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for all believers. If you have the Holy Spirit within you, then you have all of the gifts within you for He is the giver of these gifts.

Now when they heard this [the truth about Jesus], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:37-38)

Gifts operated by faith through love

Whether they are operating in you depends on your faith and spiritual maturity. The Lord, having given you the gifts, will grow you in wisdom as you begin to operate in the gifts by faith. Faith is the primary requirement to operate in the gifts. Without faith, you cannot exercise the gifts.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith (Romans 12:6)

And without love you cannot exercise faith, for faith is a faith which worketh by love (Galatians 5:6)

Paul says.

Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts. (1 Corinthians 14:1)

Believers should operate in the gifts in unity

Believers should operate in the gifts in unity with the Holy Spirit and with each other.

No one believer is any more gifted or special than another. The Lord is not a "respector" of persons. All are special to Him and all are equally loved by Him, for we are all one in Him.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:13)

Any believer with the faith to do it, can do the same works Jesus himself did, and greater works than those, He promised, they will do.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12)

All believers have the same Holy Spirit, the same Lord, and the same God who works all gifts in them. Again, it's up to believers to receive this by revelation in order walk in it. This is the word of God and it plainly says that all of us possess these gifts, but they will manifest in various degrees, operations, and levels of power all according to our individual faith.

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences in administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which works all in all. (1 Corinthians 12:4-6)

Although all the gifts of the Spirit can operate in the same person, as, how, and when the Holy Spirit determines, we all need each other. God reveals things of the Spirit in part.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part (Corinthians 13:9)

In addition, he reveals in part to each of us. For example, one may speak in tongues, and another may have the interpretation. One may prophesy and another will have the confirmation at the same time or a later time in another place.

In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. (2 Corinthians 13:1)

Additionally, the bible says, we are all members of one body. We cannot exist or move by ourselves, but we need each other to function as the whole body of Christ.

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12)
